The Wanderer

A Poem

I’m no poet,

For depth eludes me,

and rules make me uneasy.

I’m no true believer,

For the fierce pursuit of absolute righteousness,

has always made me hesitate.

I’m gullible,

slow to understand.

I keep learning,

Yet, I struggle to grasp.

I’m a simple man,

drawn to life’s quiet edges.

Where beauty hides in the mundane.

I’m a wanderer.

I wander in thought,

Adrift the sea of radiant and grim memories.

I wander in language,

For words set embers in my soul.

I wander in science and logic,

and there,

I find artistry in man.

I wander in the spiritual,

where hope still glimmers

when the light seems gone.
